Professor Otto Lidenbrock, a determined German geologist, discovers a coded message in an ancient runic manuscript detailing a passage to the center of the Earth. He embarks on a perilous journey with his nephew Axel and their guide Hans, venturing deep beneath the Earth's surface. They encounter a prehistoric underground world, complete with extinct creatures and phenomena like an underground ocean and electrical storms. Their journey is fraught with danger, including perilous climbs, encounters with monstrous prehistoric animals, and the constant threat of being lost or suffocating. Axel, initially hesitant and fearful, grows in courage and resilience as he witnesses the wonders and terrors of the subterranean realm. The group faces dwindling supplies and the immense challenge of navigating the unknown. After facing numerous obstacles, including separation and rescue, they eventually discover an underground volcano that serves as an exit. They are violently propelled to the surface through this volcanic eruption, miraculously returning to their home in Hamburg, forever changed by their extraordinary adventure into the Earth's core.
